Sebastian Pasquali will transfer from Ajax (U21) to Western United, this summer. The Australian club was founded in (May) 2017 and will be part of the A-League next season. The 19-year-old Pasquali is very much looking forward to his new adventure in his native country.

“I’m very excited to join a new club, in its first year of participation. It’s a great chance for myself and my teammates to build our own style of play and create a strong winning culture”, said the midfielder to @AjaxYA.

Fresh start

“It’s great to be back in Australia and to be amongst family and friends again, it’s a fresh start and one that poses new challenges and opportunities for me to show what I can do”, he continues.

Ajax

In January 2017 he joined Ajax from Melbourne Victory. He looks back on his time in Amsterdam with a very good feeling and is still very enthusiastic about Ajax. “My time at Ajax was extremely beneficial, it taught me how to both live and perform at a very competitive level with some of the best coaches, players and facilities in world football. What Ajax has achieved during my time there shows how well they develop players and give chances to those who show they are ready.”

Pasquali has learned a lot over the past two years. He learned things that he could not have learned anywhere else. In total, he only played 10 games last season and did not really get a chance at his ‘own’ position. “I felt I didn’t get a lot of chances to play in my favourite position, the training environment was always super competitive and I was always someone who would look to improve and earn my spot in the team, unfortunately other players were given more opportunities. That’s football! I’m a better player for it and have learnt things about myself during my time at Ajax that I couldn’t do anywhere else.”
